Itinerary

DAY 01

Haridwar / Rishikesh | Barkot

We’ll begin our sacred pilgrimage with a picturesque long mountain drive from Haridwar or Rishikesh, winding up past Mussoorie and Kempty Falls towards Barkot. Enjoy sweeping views of pine-forested valleys as your body begins its essential acclimatization for the high-altitude journey ahead.

DAY 02

Barkot | Yamunotri – Surya Kund – Janki Chatti – Barkot

Today starts early with a short drive to Janki Chatti, where we officially lace up our shoes for a 5–6 km trek along the Yamuna River to Yamunotri. Take a sacred dip in the thermal waters of Surya Kund, offer your prayers at the shrine, and trek back to Janki Chatti before driving back to rest at Barkot.

DAY 03

Barkot | Uttarkashi – Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Enjoy a pleasant drive along the banks of the Bhagirathi River into the holy town of Uttarkashi. In the afternoon, spend time exploring the ancient Kashi Vishwanath and Shakti temples, taking in the tranquil spiritual atmosphere of this historic Himalayan town.

DAY 04

Uttarkashi | Gangotri – Harsil Valley – Uttarkashi

Today we head towards Gangotri, driving through the legendary apple orchards and pine groves of Harsil Valley. Upon reaching the Gangotri Temple, take a holy dip in the icy waters of the Bhagirathi River and attend the temple darshan before returning to Uttarkashi for the night.

DAY 05

Uttarkashi | Guptkashi / Sitapur – Mandakini River Valley

Today features a long, scenic mountain drive descending into the lush Mandakini River Valley. We will pass through charming river towns and mountain vistas before reaching Guptkashi or Sitapur, where we will prepare for tomorrow’s ascent to Kedarnath.

DAY 06

Guptkashi / Sitapur | Gaurikund – Kedarnath Temple

Tackle the ultimate highlight of the Yatra today: a transfer to Gaurikund followed by a rewarding 16–18 km uphill trek into the high-altitude sanctuary of Kedarnath (3,583m). Stand before the ancient stone temple framed by the massive Kedarnath peak and witness the divine evening Aarti.

DAY 07

Kedarnath | Gaurikund – Guptkashi

Enjoy peaceful morning views of the temple before beginning your descent back down through alpine pathways to Gaurikund. From there, board our vehicles for the drive back to the comfort of our hotel in Guptkashi for a well-earned evening of rest.

DAY 08

Guptkashi | Badrinath – Tapt Kund

We will drive through scenic high-altitude passes, Chopta meadows, and Joshimath towards the holy shrine of Badrinath. Upon arrival, take a warm, refreshing bath in the natural hot springs of Tapt Kund before visiting the colorful Badrinath Temple for evening prayers.

DAY 09

Badrinath | Mana Village – Saraswati River – Rudraprayag / Pipalkoti

DAY 10

Rudraprayag / Pipalkoti | Devprayag – Rishikesh / Haridwar

Before You Go: Essential Information

Important Health Advice

Your safety on the trail is our top priority. Please review these high-altitude health guidelines before booking:

  • Medical Contraindications: This trek is highly physically demanding and is strictly not recommended for individuals suffering from severe asthma, heart problems, high blood pressure issues, or serious knee injuries.

  • Medical Check-up: We strongly recommend undergoing a basic medical check-up before arriving at the base camp to ensure your body is ready for high-altitude endurance.
Fitness & Training Requirements

To fully enjoy the breathtaking meadows without injury, you must prepare your body in advance. We recommend a training period of 6–8 weeks for beginners and 3–4 weeks for regular trekkers.

Your Target Physical Benchmarks:

  • Be able to run 5 km within 30–35 minutes.
  • Be able to walk continuously for 8–10 km carrying a backpack.
  • Be able to climb stairs continuously for 30–40 minutes without major difficulty.

Recommended Weekly Exercise Routine:

  • Endurance Practice: Dedicate 4–5 days per week to cardio training, incorporating regular long walks, small practice hikes, and walking on uneven trails while carrying a 5–7 kg backpack.
  • Strength Training: Focus on lower body and core stability with 3 sets of 20 squats, 3 sets of 15 lunges, 1–2 minute planks, 15–20 push-ups, calf raises, and step-ups on stairs.
On-Trail Best Practices & Acclimatization

Once you reach high altitudes, physical strength must be balanced with smart mountain habits:

  • Pacing: Walk slowly and maintain a steady, consistent rhythm; never rush your ascent.
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help your body naturally adjust to the changing altitude.
  • Rest: Ensure you take proper rest stops during steep ascents to prevent fatigue.
  • Substance Avoidance: Strictly avoid smoking and alcohol consumption during the trek, as they hinder oxygen absorption and slow down acclimatization.
Essential Reminders & Gear Packs
  • Best Season to Visit: Plan your travel dates between mid-July to mid-August to witness the valley meadows at peak bloom.

  • Weather & Clothing: The monsoon season brings unpredictable downpours and temperature drops. You must carry reliable rain gear, sturdy waterproof trekking shoes, and warm layers.

  • Digital Detox: Please inform your family that mobile network coverage is extremely limited or completely unavailable once you pass Joshimath.

  • Eco-Tourism Rule: Respect the fragile Himalayan ecosystem. Avoid littering and help us keep the trails completely clean.
